NITZER EBB
Three young men from a small town in England probably saved a whole generation of young Europeans from street riots, they entered a stagnating disco and dancehall-scene. Teamed together with producer Phil Harding, created mayhem on the dance floors as they 1987 unleashed That Total Age and the success was a fact. The masterpiece Belief was released in 1988 which replaced the oi!-disco with an even more suggestive sound; minimalist and almost claustrophobic. Nitzer Ebb were also inspired by the sounds of rock and jazz, which shines through on albums like Showtime and Big Hit. Nitzer Ebb disbanded in the end of the nineties, but now reformed, stronger than ever. Experience Nitzer Ebb the way it should be; close, sweaty and late at night.
FRONT 242
Front 242 shook the New Wave scene 1981 when they released the 7" single U-men. Few had then heard such a surgically clinical sound. Please remember, this was in the days of Blondie and The Ramones! Since then the Belgian combatants descending from helicopters, declaring war on the sound of music as we knew it. Albums like Front by Front and Tyranny For You, has defined the very essence of the bands concept Electronic Body Music. Front 242 has inspired many bands, but none has managed to decipher the phenomena. The band has been announcing the Tinitus performance as a part of the 25th anniversary show, capturing the sound and images from each era of their fantastic career.
ABSOLUTE BODY CONTROL
In the age of electro/pop, the true synthiast must step forward and acknowledge where it all started, and how it should be done. Absolute Body Control consists of two of the Belgian electronics scene most experienced gentlemen; Eric van Wonterghem and the true legend Dirk Ivens, known from The Klinik, Dive and Sonar. The duo met in the early 80's and under heavy influence by bands like Suicide, Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft and the electronic scene in the UK. Absolute Body Control set out releasing several singles and participated on compilations in the early 80's, which gave them an international status. Their sound became an inspiration for the whole Minimal community. At the Tinitus Festival, they will give us an exclusive show as Absolute Body Control performs for the first time in 22 years. Minimal electronic music has never sounded this modern.
UNTER NULL
Every Tinitus festival must have its own devil, back in the days we have had Suicide Commando, Hocico and Agonoize rising to their peak as mainstays of then new wave of EBM stars. This year we will face you with the she-devil Unter Null. Heavy on the drums, Erica Dunham is at the very frontline of the new school sound. Check out her latest twin EP and the album The failure Epiphany. Watch out for the assault on your ears.
THE HACKER
From his start in hardcore techno to the massive success he found with Miss Kittin, Michel Amato aka The Hacker is one of today's most talented and innovative French artists. With Kraftwerkian electro to New Wave bands like The Cure and Depeche Mode as a musical background he was also familiar with the French rave of the early 90's. His current mix of disco, synthpop and EBM has truly qualified into this years Tinitus line-up. Ending the evening with a true live performance, it will be a dance craze to remember!
DUPONT
Founded back in 1999, several years before the rise of the New Old-school EBM wave, Dupont released the single Behave and shortly thereafter the album Ukraina, which took them into underground stardom. Consisting of song writer and vocalist Riccardo and machinist Danucci.
Dupont has created an unique sound and ever developing seamlessly from growling old-school EBM to Electro pop, on to new landscapes of sound.
Dupont; the often heard but seldom seen gives you an all-star show with special guests at the Tinitus Festival 2006.
DJ's
A host of re known DJ's will entertain you through the 11 hours the Tinitus Festival consists of. Among them we find DJ Judas, known from Slime Light UK, Vogon Variety in Malmö and the Infest festival. We also present Spetsnaz side-kick DJ Archont, with several years behind decks.
Alongside our guest DJ's, we find the Tinitus Crew and maybe the promoter himself spinning away all through the night with synthpop, EBM and Rhythm n Noise.
